School Improvement

Our Aims

Our Trust is committed to delivering an ambitious and inclusive education for ALL pupils within our schools. We are determined that every pupil achieves the highest possible outcomes academically, personally and socially, and develops into a confident, independent learner for life.
In support of this, the Trust has established a School Improvement Strategy. There is much to celebrate within each of our schools, and we aim to build on this and further strengthen learning environments so that pupils achieve even greater success.

Our School Improvement Strategy

Our strategy is grounded in Sir David Carter’s four-stage improvement model. It ensures an accurate understanding of each school’s current stage of development, enabling targeted, high-impact support to secure rapid and sustainable improvement where needed.
A range of information is used to categorise each school within the four-stage model, which informs the level and type of support provided by the Trust.

How We Work with Our Schools

We work collaboratively with our schools, providing a carefully balanced blend of monitoring, support and challenge. This is underpinned by strong relationships, shared expertise and a clear, consistent focus on what makes the greatest difference for the pupils we serve. We adopt an evidence-informed approach, drawing on relevant research and established sector best practice, while recognising and respecting the unique context of each individual school.

Our aim is to build capacity within schools, ensuring sustainable improvement over time. We work in partnership with headteachers and their leadership teams through a structured yet flexible improvement model. This involves understanding each school, agreeing priorities, providing and implementing support, and reviewing impact.

Schools that are performing strongly will have greater agency over the level and type of support they receive from the Trust. Where performance is less strong, support is directed by the Trust in collaboration with headteachers. This reflects the Trust’s equitable approach, providing a clear framework while enabling schools to exercise professional agency where appropriate.

Quality Assurance

Our approach goes beyond compliance; it focuses on understanding, supporting and improving practice for the benefit of the pupils we serve. We know our schools well and draw on a range of evidence, including performance indicators and qualitative insight.
This approach enables us to provide support that is proportionate, timely and effective. Currently, the school improvement team comprises the Director of Education, the SEND Leader and the Quality Assurance Partner. All members of the team bring extensive leadership experience across a wide range of settings (mainstream and specialist provision) and phases (primary and secondary).

Developing Our People

Sustainable school improvement relies on developing the people who work in our schools. We are dedicated to nurturing talent at every stage of a teacher or leader’s career through our Trust-wide training offer.

We are proud to be building a coherent, Trust-wide professional learning pathway that spans Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Early Career Teacher (ECT) development, and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). As a delivery partner for the University of Derby, our school-based ITT provision enables us to grow new teachers within Endeavour Trust from the outset, embedding our values, inclusive practice and high expectations.

This development continues seamlessly into our ECT programme, where Early Career Teachers across all our schools have their core curriculum delivered by our school leaders, ensuring a consistent standard. ECT development is delivered through structured CPD sessions, with assessment quality-assured in partnership with Coventry and Central Warwickshire Teaching School Hub. Alongside this, our expanding NPQ offer, delivered in partnership with Leadership Learning Supporting Excellence (LLSE), supports colleagues to deepen their expertise and develop leadership capacity. Together, this integrated approach strengthens teaching quality, builds leadership sustainability and underpins long-term school improvement across the Trust.

Collaboration Across the Trust

One of the greatest strengths of our Trust is our ability to bring schools together. We actively create opportunities for school-to-school support, enabling the sharing of effective practice and expertise. We believe that purposeful collaboration accelerates improvement and has a positive impact on outcomes for pupils.
The Trust has established formal network groups across our schools that meet termly to share expertise and best practice. This ensures that no school works in isolation and that the collective strength of the Trust benefits every pupil.

Impact in Action

Our approach is making a clear difference. Across our Trust, we are seeing:

  • Increasing leadership capacity
  • Stronger teaching and learning
  • Improved outcomes for pupils
  • Greater consistency in provision

Just as importantly, we are building schools where:

  • Pupils feel included, confident, and ready to succeed
  • Staff feel supported and valued
  • Communities feel proud of their schools
