I am extremely proud to be a part of the Endeavour Multi-Academy Trust team. Our focus is always on the children and young people in our care. They are at the centre of all our plans and everything that we do. As a Trust, we never lose sight of the importance of providing children and young people with a high-quality education to prepare them for life beyond their time in school.

My entire career has been rooted in securing the best possible educational experiences and outcomes for children and young people. This has included being a teacher, a special educational needs coordinator (SENCo) and a headteacher of a mainstream primary school. For five years I was one of His Majesty’s Inspectors. The role involved leading inspections of maintained schools, independent schools, special schools and universities. I also led Area SEND inspections of local authorities. The role was further enriched through the opportunities afforded to me as one of the national trainers.

As an English graduate, there is nothing I enjoy more than curling up with a good book. In addition, exercise is a big part of my life and I thrive being outside enjoying the fresh air. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and make the most of every opportunity to be with them.

I am a CIMA qualified accountant with almost twenty years experience in the education sector, having worked at two multinational outsourcing companies in senior Finance roles.

The last five years of my career has been spent working with new and converting academies. I have provided Finance Director level support to a number of Multi Academy Trusts, particularly around setting up systems and processes and ensuring compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook and requirements of the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

My role as CFOO at Endeavour Multi Academy Trust is a natural extension of all my experience to date and I’m supportive of the Trust’s positive commitment to ethical principles and its adoption of NGA guidelines. I work closely with schools and the Executive Team to report on and protect the financial position of the organisation.

I hold degrees from both Lancaster University and Bristol University and have dedicated my career to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) since 1984. My early teaching experience focused on supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, complex communication challenges, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I later completed further study at Birmingham University, specialising in curriculum design and school governance.

In 1994, I became Deputy Headteacher at a large special school in Blackburn, and two years later, I was appointed Headteacher of Rocklands School in Lichfield. Between 2012 and 2024, I served as Executive Headteacher of Two Rivers School in Tamworth, providing strategic leadership across two highly successful special schools and an additional nursery provision. This role involved driving excellence through strong leadership teams and ensuring outstanding outcomes for learners.

I now work as the Trust’s Estates Manager and Data Protection Officer (DPO), overseeing compliance with GDPR and managing the strategic development and maintenance of the Trust’s estate.

Outside of education, I’m passionate about music as a member of a rock and roll/soul band, and I’m a lifelong supporter of Manchester City.
